Nelson and I were married July 20, 1996; so we're still newlyweds! Both of us have been married before, and both of us feel the same way now; this is THE LAST (haha) marriage for this lifetime.
He will be totally embarassed by all this, but in knowing him, I also know that he will appreciate the sentiments.
Nelson and I met through our jobs. I worked for Farm Service Agency (FSA) as a Program Assistant. Nelson worked part-time for FSA before I ever started there. We worked together 6 years before either of us ever really talked about anything other than work. In his duties for FSA, he and I really didn't have that much contact anyway. Around April of 1994, he and I started discussing stuff other than work. It started out innocently enough; talked about our employee organization, kids, kids' baseball games, etc. Eventually, he and I started seeing each other socially and we became an "item". We were together 2 years before we tied the knot. Seems like much longer some days; and others it seems like everything has gone by so fast.
Nelson is a very private individual; he doesn't show emotions like I do. I wear my heart on my sleeve; therefore, I am easily hurt. Nelson's armor protects him better than some people, but he is a very sensitive, caring and loving man. He loves me with all his heart and soul; proves it to me daily. He knows that I think he dropped here straight from Heaven, and that I can't go a day without telling him how much I love him and how much he means to me.
My boys, from a previous marriage, think Nelson can walk on water. When they have a problem or a concern, they don't usually turn to me; they turn to Nelson. He is fair, impartial and can look at things objectively. They know this and feel safe in turning to him with their thoughts.
Nelson loves kids, all kids, and would much rather spend time with kids than with adults. This is one of the many things I love about him. It takes a special person to truly enjoy being around kids; and he is the man that everybody else's kids call their second daddy. I am very proud of him and the way he handles all his relationships, but am especially proud that he is popular with kids. I believe the true test of one's character is how kids and animals react around them. We always have lots of both around here so that just proves to me that Nelson is the greatest!!!
This note is what Nelson wrote in the last Valentine's Day card he gave me:
"Thank you for being willing to share my dreams"
I would go to the ends of the earth; move heaven and hell to make Nelson's dreams come true. He has given me so much love, compassion, understanding, support and tenderness that I will do ANYTHING to make him happy!!
Please sign the guestbook and/or send me some e-mail to let me know how much you like my page, how much you like my husband (ha) or just to brag on your own sweetie!!
