        I've got Southern Pride

Hi!! My name is Theresa. I am 30-something; (birthday July 4th) and married to Nelson, a wonderful man. I have two teenage boys and also 2 stepchildren, a son 20 and a daughter 23.
More about them on my family page!

We have three dogs, Bubba, Gauge and Little Bit!
Also have two cats, Lex and Luther.
More about them on the family page also!
Meet my family and pets here!

I live in a small town in Mississippi.
I really have no desire to live elsewhere; small towns are what I know and big cities scare me somewhat.
I love to travel and do every chance I get.
But Mississippi will always be home!

I have one brother and one sister, both younger. I'm the oldest, yep! And we had the typical 3 sibling household when I was growing up. As the youngest, my brother always got everything he wanted :-) As the oldest, I got all the responsibility and babysitting jobs. And my sister says as the middle child she was basically ignored LOL! See a pic of the three of us here. I'm the one on the right :-)

I don't work outside the home due to fibromyalgia, lupus and chronic back pain. I miss working and being out in the mainstream. I hope to get back out there again someday.

My menfolk like to hunt and fish which leaves me plenty of time to play on this here 'puter'. I love my family, my pets, meeting people, working with computers, and life in general.

I am a true Southern Belle; born and bred in the great state of Mississippi. I love this state and don't have any desire to leave it. We take life easy here; do our jobs well but know that it'll be there when we get there. I often wonder why people are always rushing to get somewhere and missing out on what they can see on the journey. I, like all true Southern Belles, enjoy peace and serenity, usually end up acting as a peacemaker and feel responsible for everyone around me. I like to know that everyone is enjoying themselves and are content with their surroundings. I know you can't please everyone but I like knowing that I did all I could do to make sure everyone in my life is happy and content. I'm not a martyr by any means but I truly get more out of giving than I do from receiving. It's a selfish desire on my part as my heart feels good when I'm making someone else happy. Not a feminist by any means, I don't guess :-) I think it's nice when a man holds a door for me or pulls out my chair. I don't look at it like he's treating me like I can't do it for myself. That's just a man showing respect for a woman in my opinion.

I love music and love to dance so music is always playing somewhere around me. I like country music most of all but also like 70's and 80's rock music. My favorite country musical artists are Travis Tritt and Tracy Byrd. For rock artists I like Def Leppard, Journey, Doobie Brothers, Michael Bolton and others.
I also love Yanni and have lots of his music on my webpages.

My favorite movies are comedies and dramas. I LOVE the movie "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"! Favorite movie stars are Harrison Ford, Tom Hanks, Chevy Chase, Sam Elliott, Patrick Swayze, Mel Gibson and Sandra Bullock. I think Sean Connery is absolutely the sexiest older man I've ever seen *smile*

I like antiques and country inspired decorating. I love to work in the yard when it's not so bloomin' hot! I love flowers and lots of lush green plants around me at all times! We've just recently bought a new home and the yard needs a tremendous amount of work. So I ought to be very happy next summer getting the yard fixed up one shrub at a time :-)

My LOTH sisters are very special to me. On the 23rd of each month
we all, or most of us, light a candle to pray, wish or hope for
more love and peace in our world. These two images were made for
the ladies of Region 6 to commemorate that day. Anyone is welcome
to use them if you like. The first was made by me and the second
by my Region 6 LOTH sister Cindy; the Regional Director for Region 6.
